I usually try to do what I need by working directly with the function. WordPress is cool that way - you don't need to be a master php nerd to make things happen, and if you do it yourself it will still work when the next upgrade breaks something to do with WP's back end. This plugin has many well-thought-out and useful parameters built in, which makes it a true convenience and worth the risk. This looks nice.
