This is a super helpful tut. I actually followed the link on the WP Codex because they did a poor job of explaining how to link the child and original themes (re: template).

Hi. I followed the instructions and when I returned to WP to install, it says, “Broken themes. Stylesheet is missing”. I am new to this and can’t see what I’ve missed. Any ideas? Thanks very much…

Thanks a lot for this post! You’ve made it really clear and easy to follow. I end up customising the CSS of themes a lot, and every time there was an update, poof, customised CSS gone! This should be very useful. If only I’d known about this earlier.
